Austin Community College students and employees can obtain a subscription to Microsoft Office 365 at no charge.
Office 365 is the cloud-based version of the Microsoft Office software package, which includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and other applications. It can be installed on up to five compatible PCs or Macs, plus up to five tablets or personal devices that meet the minimum operating system requirements:
- PCs and tablets running Windows: Windows 7 or higher
- Macs: OS X 10.6 or higher
- iPads: iOS 7.0 or higher
Petersburg College offers Microsoft Office software to current students at no additional cost. The software, for both Windows and Mac, includes: Microsoft Office Pro Suite for PC (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, Lync) - 2016 (via Office 365) Microsoft Office Professional Suite for Mac - 2011, 2014 (via Office 365).
Because the software is offered through Microsoft, ACC will not provide installation assistance or ongoing support. Microsoft offers phone and online chat support. Also, the software is not intended to replace Google email or Google Apps. Gmail remains ACC's email system.
